Among the latest improvements in the FUE hair transplant procedure is the Unshaven FUE Hair Transplant or undetectable FUE. It is especially important for the psychology women patients and the reasons are obvious. But this option is equally important to men who are opposed to shaving their heads for surgery due to the same esthetic and social reasons as women. An Unshaven FUE Hair Transplant provides a viable option. The procedure is minimally invasive and effective. Now patients can restore their hairline or treat their minimal hair loss with little or no detection, avoiding the embarrassment. However, do not confuse this procedure with the Long-hair FUE transplant where the hair is much longer (virtually untouched) than with the unshaven technique.
As the name suggests, the main difference between a normal FUE Hair Transplant procedure and an Unshaven FUE procedure is that surgery is performed without shaving the head or any part scalp. Since donor hair is extracted at full length, most patients decide to return to work the next day without anyone noticing that they have undergone surgery, unless of course the hair is tied back.
As in the traditional FUE procedure, grafts are extracted one by one from a donor area (traditionally the back or sides of the head). However, the procedure is far more delicate and requires extreme surgical to insure the correct extraction and implantation of healthy grafts.
Some post-op redness may appear as with the traditional FUE procedure, however once the redness disappears, the existing hair length successfully hides any evidence of a transplant having taken place. The hair grows back gradually over a 12-month period as with the standard FUE procedure. Since hair growth is gradual, most people do not even notice the change.
